Macbook 13" mid 2014 and ATV 3 Gen. My iPhone 6 works fine with it, buy when I try mirroring my macbook it show tremendous lag, and is impossible to mirror a movie from my mac. Big video lag, and audio is either cut or inaudible.Everything is up to date, I tried resetting everything, and my firewall is turned off. I have no idea what else to do, I use this constantly. Please Help

Found a solution that worked for me. I have a late 2012 rMBP running airplay on an ATV3. After upgrading to El Capitan airplay video became laggy and my fans would run hard. I open activity monitor to see that two processes were taking up 200% of CPU. The main culprit was XPEncoder (app 150%) and Airplay XPC helper (app 50%). If I close both of these processes one right after the other, airplay turns off. If I then restart it, everything is fixed. When you restart your computer the problem returns and you have to repeat the procedure, so it isn't a longterm fix, but at least I can watch videos on my projector again until apple sorts this out.
